Lawyers, Are The Competitors Stalking You?
I had been just hearing Pat Flynn record a chapter of his podcast, Let’s Ask Pat. He was recording it on Periscope, a livestreaming application, allowing his viewers to look at live as they conducts business. He was answering an issue from somebody that was curious how to proceed when her competition follows her content. Pat inspired me to reply to that question in my attorney clients.

Would you suspect your competition are following yourself on social networking, or registering to your e-newsletter or blog, or searching at the contacts on LinkedIn, Facebook to enable them to watch what you’re doing?
Even though you don’t suspect it, they’re.
First, let’s support one minute.
Will they do the very same factor you need to do?
Have they got your same set of skills?
How about the precise encounters and background you provide whenever you advise your customers?
Will they occupy the geographic space you occupy?
Have they got your same personality?
Will they approach clients and matters exactly the same way you need to do?

We really go to town a rut because we compare ourselves for them, thinking they’re doing something much better than we’re, or they’re smarter, or should be attracting more or better business because they’re so visible.
We obtain all tangled up in knots thinking we’re losing market or client share for them whenever we aren’t always sure that’s the situation. We go incognito, and check out their LinkedIn profile and posts so that they won’t know it’s us.
We subscribe to their free ebook or tip sheet.
…and the like.
Guess what happens? That’s all okay!
Whether they’re doing it for you, or you do it for them, this doesn’t need to be a significant issue. What good may come from intellectual stalking each side? Well, it’s frequently the situation that somebody will:
Become more conscious of problems that are important
Be prepared for market activity if this happens
Be motivated to prevent procrastinating, and obtain some work done
Form alliances with individuals who complement our business
Cultivate referral sources from those who are conflicted from matters
Irrrve never would like you to repeat exactly a specific item another person doing. That might be dishonest, and often illegal based on that which was copied, and….well….not nice.
But that’s certainly not what I’m speaking about here. I’m speaking regarding your competitors watching you, and also you watching them…all to to get better and smarter at that which you do.
Bottom LineBottom Line – Training For Lawyers
Whether someone is registering to your articles, or else you are registering to their own, I wouldn’t spend considerable time attempting to keep it in check, or deleting them out of your database, or blocking them on social networking. They will resubscribe sooner or later, or are likely to think it is elsewhere, why spend your energy managing other people who think they should be as if you?
They’re nothing like you. You aren’t like them. Don’t get depressed by activity that is not moving you nearer to your goals…YOUR GOALS…not another person’s.
Examine other coffee shops.
Allow them to study from you if they would like to.
Look out for your ip. That’s another issue.
Don’t get so consumed by fretting about someone you see as competition when they’re not.
Keep doing that which you do best.
Shine because the lawyer you are aware how to become.
Demonstrate your intellect through that which you say, do and publish.
Welcome individuals who think they need or want to understand of your stuff.
Learn what you truly need and wish to examine other coffee shops.
Mind your company as well as your practice…not their own.
