Georgia Tech Renames Institute Of Paper Science The Renewable Bioproducts Institute

Georgia Tech has announced that it’s renaming its Institute of Paper Science the Renewable Bioproducts Institute (RBI). Based on the announcement, the college has dedicated to doing the next to help the Institute:

* Recruit a minumum of one new tenure track professor within the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry with relevant bioproducts experience to participate greater than 40 Georgia Tech faculty now dealing with RBI.

* Recruit a brand new tenure track professor within the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering to lead towards the educational and research mission from the RBI.

* Recruit a professor from the practice with relevant industrial experience to operate in the academic and research interface between industry and also the RBI.

* Invest significant capital funds to grow and repurpose core lab facilities within the existing IPST building to higher align using the expanded research focus regions of biorefining, biopolymers, and new materials.

* Use the entire selection of Georgia Tech’s many industrial and political relationships to assist promote and capture the possibilities within the bioproducts area.
